I'm using a low G set of the `Alohi strings on my main tenor and a high G set of Manaha strings on another tenor and really love these strings. I liked them so much I'm making them available right here on my site.

Beginners

Where Do I Start?

For players new to the ukulele – this is the workshop for you. Learn basic chords and secrets to learning names of notes of the ukulele fingerboard. Selecting a ukulele, an introduction to the Soprano, Concert, Tenor and Baritone ukuleles, the four common sizes of ukulele.

This workshop gets you rolling on having some fun playing the ukulele.

Topics covered on a typical 60 to 90 minute workshop include:

  • Tunings

    Learn about common tunes and how to tune you ukulele by ear and using an electronic tuner.

  • Strums

    Guaranteed success in learning basic four and three beat strumming patterns.

  • Chords

    The basic chords used in hundreds of popular songs.

  • Simple Songs and Chord Progressions

    Putting your chords and strums together to play songs.

    What to play if you don't know a lot of songs.

  • Embellishing Chords with Melody Notes

    The Major key and the notes and chords typically used in creating songs and progressions.

Where Do I Start?

Where Do I Start? This is a common question. This workshop covers ukulele tunings, learning the ukulele fingerboard, basic chords and strums. This workshop gets you rolling on having some fun playing the ukulele.

Step Two

BEGINNER

If you got a few chords under your belt and want to go a little further. Covers moving chord around the fingerboard. Strumming variations and< how to create more.

Intros, Endings and Turnarounds

INTERMEDIATE-ADVANCED

This workshop covers playing classic intros, endings and turnarounds. Also, covers how to create your own.

Intros are a composed or improvised piece of music that introduces—sets the stage for— a song or composition. Introductions, or intro for short, are used in all types of music.

Turnarounds are similar to intros but half the number of measures, typically two measures in length. Sometimes called “turnbacks,” these musical passages “turn” you back to a previous section of music just played.
